The Salvage Store’s roots go back to 1986 while I was still in high school. These were days of selling the school beef jerky to the band fund raisers and antiques at auctions on Sundays. The first store i sold product at while i was in high school was called Grandma’s Glasswork and Collectibles and it was located in the Thunderbird Flea Market in Mandeville. When I graduated from high school in 1989 I took the $500.00 I had saved and along with my Dad’s matching $500.00, we started what is today The Salvage Store. The first location was on Lee Road in Covington, Louisiana next to Spells Grocery. We sold an array of general merchandise. Two years later, we moved to our current location in Folsom where we have been since 1991. My father retired in 1995 and that’s when our official transformation into the salvage grocery business began. After finishing his schooling my son Derek partnered with me and began his role as vice president of the company. Since then we have grown the company to provide four locations across three parishes including Washington, Tangipahoa, and St. Tammany. We also have multiple warehouses and a corporate office / distribution center in Bogalusa. We strive to grow the business to better serve our customers. We are committed to providing quality products at great prices and maintaining the high standards, our customers have come to expect.
Come check out what we're all about, I promise you will not be disappointed.
